Obviously the poor rating is price related. I only go when I have enough scene points or can use my Virgin member benefits. I don't know what I like better, the free movie or the free POPCORN!
Just finished watching a movie in the Ultra AVX theatre 25 minutes ago and my ears are still ringing. Being around diesel engines all day Im used to loud noises but the noise level there was unreal. I had to yell in order to speak to the person beside me and still had trouble hearing them. I have no doubt that the decibel level greatly exceeded the industry standard of 85 dB SPL.I collect Scene Points and try to make it to the movies whenever I can. But after that last experience I have little to no interest in ever returning.
Comfortable,cozy theater. Snack bar available. We would like to have more good movies there for the 40 plus population. We are getting tired of the cartoons & child entertainment. History,Documentaries,some good comedies.The Book Club was pretty good.
D-Box...remember that! For 3D AVX the D-Box seats are a must if you really want the best movie experience. The added cost is worth it even if you turn off the motion, you get a larger chair with your own arm rests. The chairs are stiff and you cannot manually recline them as that would defeat the purpose of the seat. The screen and sound in the AVX theatre is amazing. Several mobile check-in machines for those purchasing tickets online.
Always very clean. Washrooms could be a little cleaner. The seats are very comfortable and allow plenty of room. Popcorn is always a must have.
